The third TIA of the year 2023 was conducted with a presentation by our researchers Natalia Peres and Josue Cortez of their study “Changes in population and distribution of seats in the lower house in Bolivia” and were accompanied by the comments and analysis of economist Ernesto Perez de Rada. The presentation was shared on June 22 at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), together with the Institute of Socioeconomic Research (IISEC) of the Bolivian Catholic University and the Scientific Society of the Political Sciences and Public Administration Career of the UMSA.
The research focuses on the technical procedure for the distribution of seats among departments (Law 421) with the objective of carrying out a simulation of the distribution based on alternative data sources that guarantee greater availability, accessibility and reliability. In addition, discussing the technical process of seat distribution in order to socialize it, debate it and improve it.
