Using recent data from the Continuous Employment Survey (ECE), this document shows differences between men and women in the short-term dynamics of participation in the labor market and in the structure of urban employment in Bolivia. Based on a decomposition of the participation rate, estimates show that women are more vulnerable to exiting the labor market, especially in periods of greater intensity of the care economy. It is also observed that women did not have net opportunities to get good jobs, however, they show greater positive reallocation from bad jobs to good jobs. On the other hand, descriptive evidence is presented of transitions of different labor market categories by gender and the probabilities of transition from unemployed to employed through a survival analysis.
