Recognizing the human right to access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), this document quantifies the state of deprivation experienced by Bolivian households in WASH services and its relationship with poverty, by calculating the Multidimensional Poverty Index in WASH for Bolivia between 2015 and 2021. The results found show that the incidence of multidimensional poverty is higher in rural areas of the country, but the levels of poverty intensity are similar between urban and rural regions. It was also evident that the relationship with monetary poverty is low in both areas.
